Here is my latest product review for the Sage Smart Scoop. A machine that’s designed to make a range of frozen desserts from sorbets to ice creams.
The Smart Scoop comes with an ice cream bowl which can hold 1 litre of ice cream. It also comes with a spatula, brush to clean the paddle with, and an instruction manual containing a few simple ice cream recipes to get you started.
The ice cream maker has 12 hardness settings which means you can make desserts ranging from sorbets, frozen yogurts, gelato and ice cream. The machine has a sensor in it so when it’s churning it can detect how thick the mixture is – which is a great feature. So the Smart Scoop should make your dessert just how you like it (and for the right amount of time).
An important factor to mention is this machine is very big! So just make sure you have enough room in your kitchen for it.
Another great feature of the Smart Scoop is it’ll notify you when it’s time to add mix in (nuts for example). And debatably, one of the best features is the sound you can set it to make when the ice cream is ready (the sound of an ice cream van)! However, rest assured, if that’s not your cup of tea, there’s also a normal beep!
In conclusion
I must say, I never really made ice cream before I got this machine, but the flavours that come out of the ice cream from the Sage Smart Scoop are so much better than shop bought ice cream.
As I mentioned earlier, this isn’t the smallest of appliances and it may tend to be the sort of thing you only use in the summer months. However, if you’re really in to your frozen desserts and you want to be in control of what you put in them, then this is the machine for you.
