Making fresh pasta can be daunting, so instead of going to the expense of buying a machine, follow these directions to learn how to make pasta without a machine.
For this method, you’ll need 1 egg per 100g of flour. 100g flour mix will make 1 serving.
- Sieve 100g of ‘00’ flour into a large mixing bowl.
- Make a well in the middle of the flour then break in the egg.
- Fold the flour into the eggs using a folk then use your hands to make a dough. If the mixture begins to dry out, add a little bit of water at a time to help stick the ingredients together.
- Flour a clean work surface and knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until you’re left with a smooth, elastic ball of dough.
- Wrap in cling film and leave to rest for at least 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, roll the dough out as thinly as possible on a floured surface. Try to roll it as thinly as possible because it will expand when cooked.
- Then, make the pasta into shapes and leave to firm up for a further 30 minutes.
- When ready, cook the pasta in boiling water.
