If you’re looking for how to make the perfect mashed potatoes – look no further. The best mashed potato recipe is always the simplest and here we only need a few ingredients.
- Firstly, take 500g worth of potatoes then peel them using a vegetable peeler.
- Now take a sharp knife and roughly chop the potatoes into equal sizes (between 1-2 inches square).
- Bring some water to boiling point in a saucepan, on the hob.
- Carefully place the chopped potatoes into the pan, along with ½ teaspoon worth of salt. Leave to simmer for about 25 minutes.
- After the cooking time, remove the saucepan from the heat then stick a knife into the potatoes to make sure they’re nice and soft. When they’re done, drain the water from the potatoes through a colander.
- Return the saucepan to the hob and pour in 100g worth of butter and 100ml worth of milk. Stir over a low heat until the butter has melted.
