So we were just about to start filming our next podcast (for Paella) when the recent thunderstorms caused the power to blow. We were out for 3 hours but still managed to soldier on filming the podcast – there was just enough juice left in the camera! To see how a podcast filmed relying on only light from outside came out, be sure to download the cook-a-long from 1 August.

So we decided to take a moment of reflection and review how the FitBrits website had changed in the past year and a half since its launch. It’s fair to say a lots happened and it’s still growing fast.
Starting out with the odd recipe and cooking guide ‘here and there’, FitBrits now has a fast growing number of recipes, guides and cook-a-long recipe podcasts. And lets not forget the Blog which is where FitBrits started.
You can now follow FitBrits on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and via the blog and RSS feed.
We’ll keep you posted on the blog, but make sure you keep checking back for recipes and cook-a-long podcasts.

Anyone tried a banana sandwich lately??? Every time I mention ‘I could really do with a banana sandwich right now’ in the office, I usually get the same response. Along the lines of ‘urghhhhh, that sounds disgusting’!
Now, these are the words of those who have never tried a banana sandwich in all their glory. I couldn’t rave about them more, but I have a couple of tips to make sure you make the best banana sandwich ever.
- Make your banana sandwich on WHITE BREAD.
- Make sure your banana is very ripe (so it even has some brown on.
- Butter the bread, always butter the bread!
- Slice the banana downwards (into circles) and sandwich between the bread.
And there you have it, a perfect banana sandwich.
