Hi All,
Christmas is literally just around the corner so get yourself down to the shop and get some ingredients for Mulled Wine! Check out the video here to see how simple it is to make, we whipped it up for when we were getting ready for the work Christmas Party and it tastes 10-times better than the shop bought stuff.
Enjoy!
Warren.
P.s. Please feel free to comment on the Dicky Bow!
Ok, so Christmas is almost upon us (sorry that I bought up the “C” word in November), and I think we’ve got a pretty unique Christmas recipe idea!
We’ve made the ultimate Christmas Burger – basically, it’s a Christmas dinner in a bun. How this hasn’t cottoned on sooner I just don’t know, especially considering how great it tastes!
Check out our step-by-step cook-a-long podcast on how to make this beauty, and yes, it comes with all the trimmings!
Turkey Burger, Stuffing, Bacon, Cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts (optional for obvious reasons!) and Roast potatoes.
Bring on the Christmas Party!
So the festive period is over, and, like many, you’re probably feeling a bit groggy from excesses of mulled wine and turkey!
We went to the supermarket and found the perfect starter kit to begin detoxing for the new year – all for a fiver…
For Smoothies:
- Frozen summer fruits
- Frozen chopped mango
- Pineapple
- Orange & Mango Juice
For Detox:
- Pomegranate juice
So, all you have to do… Pomegranate Juice is crammed with antioxidants so make sure you have a glass of this a day.
And for the rest, chop the pineapple and stick this in a bowl with the mango and summer fruits. Mix the bowl and separate the contents into 5-6 sandwich bags. Then, put the bags in the freezer.
Each morning, put the contents of 1 bag in a blender with some Orange & Mango juice. Blend and enjoy for the next 5-6 days. Having a smoothie in the morning is a great pick-me-up and you will feel the difference straight away. A good tip is to blend whilst the fruit is still relatively frozen.
You can also see the smoothie recipe on the website by clicking here
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hear are a few tips to help Christmas dinner go as smoothly as possible:
- Plan it down to a tee – Clarify what your serving time is and write down (in order of time): what time each thing has to go in the oven.
- Delegate – If you can get ONE person in charge of each food on your Christmas dinner plate, it will be a doddle. This also encourages each person to take pride in their role to make their ‘potatoes (or whatever)’ to be the best food on the plate. This also means your only in charge of one thing.
- Go Disposable (sorry Greenpeace) – Its only for a day though! Use disposable foil roasting tins, these are a God-send and significantly cut down on the washing up (quid’s in from the pound shop!)
Is it me, or would this make a fantastic recipe – especially at this time of year? It’s just a shame it’s too late to make a podcast for it for Christmas 2008.
Ingredients
- Turkey Burger
- Sausage
- Bacon
- Stuffing
- Cranberry Sauce
- Mashed Sprouts (for those who love them!)
- ALL IN A BAP!
Let us know what you think, I wouldn’t recommend it for the Christmas day dinner though!
