Native to Australia & New Zealand, my tasty anzac biscuits recipe has a chewy centre and are easy to bake in the oven. They’re a great homemade biscuit to quickly make for kids
- Preheat the oven to 180c / 350f.
- Add the porridge oats, desiccated coconut, flour, caster sugar and bicarbonate of soda to a mixing bowl. Mix briefly to combine.
- Melt the butter and golden syrup together in the microwave or in a saucepan.
- Pour the melted butter and golden syrup into the dry ingredients and combine.
- Whilst the butter is still warm, roll out 10 balls from the mixture and place onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof or parchment paper. Press each ball down gently.
- Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until golden and flat like biscuits.
- Remove from the oven, leave to cool then enjoy.
