- 190g Plain Flour
- 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 150g Caster Sugar
- 2 tbsp Golden Syrup
- 2 Beaten Eggs
- 150ml Sunflower Oil
- 150ml Milk
- For the icing...
- 50g Butter
- 4 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 150g Icing Sugar
Directions
My microwave chocolate cake recipe is really easy to make and cooks in the microwave oven in just 10 minutes.
- Sieve the Plain Flour, Cocoa Powder, Bicarb and Baking Powder into a large mixing bowl. Followed by the Caster Sugar.
- Combine the dry ingredients then make a well in the middle. Pour in the two Beaten Eggs, Milk, Sunflower Oil and Golden Syrup.
- Mix until smooth then pour half the mixture into a microwave-safe cake dish. Microwave on full-power (800w) for 5 minutes.
- Check it’s cooked through, leave to stand for a few minutes then remove from the dish to cool. Repeat using the second half of the cake mixture.
- Once cool, make the icing by sieving the Cocoa Powder into a bowl of the melted Butter. Mix, then stir in the Icing Sugar and Milk. Leave to cool.
- Finish by sandwiching a thin layer of icing between the two halves of cake then spread the rest of the icing on top.
- Dust with Icing sugar and enjoy.
