Sausage Roll Recipe
- Pork Sausages (x8)
- Puff Pastry
- Garlic (2 cloves)
- Dried Parsley (x2 tbsp)
- Worcester Sauce (x1 tbsp)
- Egg (x1)
Directions
We've made this chunky Sausage Roll Recipe in our series of Diamond Jubilee recipes. Perfect for canapés, this classic finger food is guaranteed to impress when celebrating the Jubilee. Rumour has it the Palace will also be using this recipe! For a less chunky and more traditional Sausage Roll, simply roll the Puff Pastry out thinner.
- Finely chop the Garlic and put into a mixing bowl, along with the Parsley and Worcester Sauce.
- Squeeze the Sausage Meat out of the Sausage cases into the mixing bowl (there is no dignified way of doing this)!
- Thoroughly mix everything together until all the ingredients are combined.
- Flour a work surface and for chunky Sausage Rolls, roll out the Puff Pastry to 1/2 cm thick (thinner for regular Sausage Rolls).
- Place the Sausage Meat on top of the Pastry (see video below) and wrap around the Pastry. Brush some of the broken Egg on the edge to help stick the Pastry together.
- You should now have a very long Sausage Roll! You can either leave this as-is, or, cut out each Sausage Roll before cooking. We've cut-out before cooking so all the edges are nice and crispy.
- Place the Sausage rolls onto a greased baking tray and brush each one with the broken Egg.
- Now cook in the oven on 200c for 20 minutes, or, until golden.
